Automated Design and Optimization of Suspension Coil Springs

Suspension coil springs belong to the resilient parts of a chassis and are safety-relevant components. They are primarily responsible for the vehicle's roll and pitch performance and provide a steady cornering in combination with stabilizers. At  Mubea Fahrwerksfedern GmbH,  FEA  methods  and  optiSLang  are  applied  for  an  automated  design  of  coil  springs  with  subsequent optimization procedure to fulfill all boundary conditions and lifetime requirements.

Cost and Function Optimization Applied to a Proportional Solenoid

During the technical design of a product, a conflict often arises between the available development time and the variants to be investigated. Robert Bosch AG developed an automated CAE process with optiSLang to support cost and function optimization in the design of a proportional solenoid. Thus, the Bosch engineering team was able to generate a Pareto optimal design in shorter development time and with optimal functional behavior.
