Dynamic analysis of a nuclear power station
During the project, storey response spectra due to dynamic loading were determined and compared. The linear dynamic calculations were performed using the finite element code ANSYS, while the nonlinear ones were conducted using the finite element code LS-DYNA 3D. Afterwards, the storey response spectra were derived from the time signals of the dynamic calculations using optiSLang.
The power station encasement including the elastically supported foundation plate and load carrying reinforced concrete members were modelled as a 3D volume model. The fixtures were idealized as a mass-beam system. By means of linear and nonlinear dynamic calculations, the storey response spectra due to earthquake loading and plane crash were determined. For earthquake analysis, different subsoil layers are also considered.
