Optimization of gas production

By the coupling of ANSYS, multiPlas and optiSLang, Dynardo calculated the hydraulic fracturing of a layered deposit in jointed rock formation. Thus, the calibration of a 3D simulation model was possible.

To use the model for optimization of the well design as well as the design of the hydraulic stimulation, it is crucial to determine the key input parameters that essentially influence the formation of cracks. Thus, the mechanisms involved can be understood and the results of the stimulated volume can be compared to measurements. Using the calibrated model, the design of the well and the hydraulic design of further holes can be optimized regarding a maximized gas production.
