Modell validation with optiSLang

The validation of a numeric simulation model by real measure data is an important task in CAE-based dimensioning of structures and systems. The adjustment of measurement and simulation is the base for  trustworthy simulation results and a predictable model. The model validation is often bonded with the troublesome setting of numerous model parameters. The seminar provides a systematic approach for model validation through sensitivity study and optimization. The solution method is shown with the help of examples and it is documented in detail. The suggested model validation with sensitivity study and optimization can be integrated as standardized process into virtual product development.

Agenda

1. Basics of sensitivity studies using stochastic analysis

  • Sampling methods
  • Statistic assessment of the simulation results
  • Integration of signal data for simulations within the time range
  • Extraction of assessment criteria for the validation

2. Basics of parameter identification through optimization

  • Algorithmic basics
  • Formulation of the validation task as optimization problem
  • Evaluation of the optimization results

3. Implementation of a standardized process for model validation

  • Description of the model validation process
  • Documentation

The training is suitable for engineers and software developers in the CAE field which are confronted with tasks of model validation.
