Process Integration
The connection of arbitrary CAE processes is made by ASCII files by means of a graphic parameterize editor. Beyond that optiSLang offers interfaces to CATIA and ANSYS Workbench.
Concept
The process integration of optiSLang enables the user to connect arbitrary complex simulation processes of external CAE solvers, pre- and postprocessors in heterogeneous networks or on Unix clusters over a graphical editor. All parameters, which the CAE process can work on automatically and which are controllable over ASCII files, can be used by optiSLang.
Scripts or individual solver calls can be used for the automated execution of extrenal CAE processes. The script generation is supported by means of a graphical script generator. The only boundary condition is that the CAE process has to run automated and should be batchable for the avoidance of user interaction.
In optiSLang, it is possible to parallelize solver calls for the calculation of designs. This reduces the computing time for an optimization or robustness evaluation by a significant factor and thus contributes to the increase of innovation speed.
Interfaces
In order to make geometry parameters from parametric CAD/CAE processes accesible to optiSLang, interfaces are offered for CATIA and ANSYS Workbench. The parameterizing can be accomplished in the CAD/CAE tool and it is exported to optiSLang. With the export the solver script, all necessary ASCII files and optiSLang project files are generated. Afterwards, the problem definition can be completed and passed on to a sensitivity analysis, optimization or robustness evaluation. Furthermore, the following CAD models can be connected by the bi-directional interface in ANSYS Workbench:
- Autodesk Inventor
- SolidWorks
- Solid Edge
- Mechanical Desktop
- Unigraphics
- Pro/ENGINEER
